RIVIERA BEACH, Fl. - Memorial Day is a few weeks away and the summer boating season is about to begin.
The United States Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet is holding an open house this Saturday May 18 to promote water safety.
The Coast Guard Station at 3300 Lakeshore Dr. Riviera beach will be open to the public from 10am to 2pm.
Coast Guard officials say many boating accidents are avoidable and wearing life jackets should be automatic like wearing a seat belt in a car.
There will be a a mini Beach and Boat safety course for children as well as assorted Environmental games according to the Coast Guard. Parents will also be able to register their children with the PBSO Childs I DENT Program.
Various Coast Guard boats will also be on display for the public .
