RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - A Riviera Beach police officer is recovering at St. Mary's Medical Center after his motorcycle crashes into a vehicle Sunday morning.
Florida Highway Patrol said the officer, who was wearing a helmet while in uniform and reporting to work, was heading eastbound when his motorcycle crashed into a Mustang that was traveling westbound after exiting the off ramp of I-95 north.
Riviera Beach Police say a car and a motorcycle collided right by the median on Blue Heron Boulevard next to the I-95 on ramp around 6 a.m.
Officials say the police officer is expected to be okay.
The eastbound on ramp to I-95 north off Blue Heron Boulevard as well as the east and westbound lanes of Blue Heron were closed off for some time, so crews could investigate the cause of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
