WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Next year expect to see more security officers at Palm Beach County Elementary schools.
Right now just four police officers patrol the county's 108 elementary schools.
Now the Palm Beach County School district is looking to change that by budgeting an additional $1.6 million next fiscal year to put more officers at elementary schools.
They're planning to add 24 school police officers to the force.
The district is also transferring 8 officers from the night shift to patrol elementary schools during the day next school year.
The moves will bring the total to 36 police officers to patrol the county's 108 elementary schools.
