In June of 1979, someone stole the painting "Madonna and Child" from The Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea.
Now, as the church nears its 125th anniversary, senior warden John Archer tells the Palm Beach Daily News that he hopes someone returns the painting.
To help find the stolen artwork, Archer told the newspaper that he registered the painting with the website "Art Loss Register" -- which tracks auctions all over the world.
If the painting goes up for auction, the church will be alerted.
