On the last day of early voting before Tuesday's Republican presidential primary, a steady stream of voters made their way to Palm Beach County's early voting polling sites.

West Palm Beach resident Ray Agostini cast his ballot at Palm Beach County's elections headquarters on Military Trail at 10:30 a.m. and spent the afternoon campaigning for Mitt Romney from the sidewalk outside the elections office, waving signs at passing cars on Military Trail.

"I am going to be busy on Tuesday campaigning," Agositni said. "I can't afford to go vote that day."

Billie and Art Ackerman recently moved here from Washington, and were pleased to learn they could cast an early ballot. The Lake Clarke Shores residents said they wanted to beat the lines on Election Day.

"I think on Tuesday it is going to be incredibly busy," Art Ackerman said.

A new law slashes the number of early voting days from 14 to eight. Supporters have praised the move, part of a package of new voting laws, as a curb on voter fraud.

Opponents, including the American Civil Liberties Union, have filed suit to block it.

Eight early voting sites in the county were to close at 4 p.m. today
