PALM BEACH, Fla. - Red flags were up along Palm Beach Monday as many Spring Breakers arrived to enjoy their break.
Lifeguards say they decided to discourage swimming because of jellyfish and rip currents.
But spring breakers were still trying to enjoy the beach.
"Right now it is awesome for the kids because of the little tide ponds. I don't have to worry about them going into the waves," Heather Clinger said.
Clinger is visiting from Idaho and said, despite the cloudy day and high surf, her family is still enjoying themselves.
"I've been keeping an eye on the children. I don't let them close to the water," Clinger said.
Lifeguards say they will evaluate the conditions on Tuesday and decide whether they will fly red flags again.
Surfers were the only people in the ocean Monday night.
