PALM BEACH, Fla. - Palm Beach's Midtown Beach was closed for swimming for several hours Friday morning, after the town's Ocean Rescue spotted more sharks off the coast Thursday.

The sign on the beach said it all, "No Swimming, SHARKS."

Thousands of sharks were spotted earlier this week about 100 yards off the coast of Palm Beach and Boynton Beach.

This time of year sharks migrate to warmer waters and swim close to the shoreline to find food easily.

Experts say these particular sharks are most likely spinner sharks, and between 3-to-7 feet long.

While Midtown Beach was closed, Phipps Ocean Park on Palm Beach remained open for swimming.

Around 10:30 Friday morning the all clear was given and swimmers were once again in the water at the Midtown Beach. However that didn't last long. One hour later lifeguards closed the beach.
