PALM BEACH, Fla. - Lifeguards in the Town of Palm Beach could soon be out of a job thanks to budget cuts.
The ten lifeguards that make up the Town of Palm Beach Ocean Rescue Unit find now themselves on the chopping block.
Palm Beach Town Manager Pete Ewell says budged cuts could mean eliminating the lifeguards that man Mid-Town Beach and Phipps Ocean Park.
Right now the town spends more than $800,000 per year for lifeguards -- money it just doesn't have.
Ewell insists the town is examining all options.
