PALM BEACH, Fla. - A West Palm Beach woman hired by a Palm Beach family to help care for two disabled people and do household chores has been arrested on theft charges.
Palm Beach police say that Lynda Estrada Cancino had attempted to use her employer's credit card without permission. The employer was alert by Chase Bank that purchases were made on her card.
The Palm Beach woman says that in addition to the unauthorized use of credit cards numerous miscellaneous household items were missing including an Apple iPad.
Police say that Cancino was caught on a surveillance camera at the Publix in Palm Beach trying to get money from the ATM machine using the stolen credit card.
Cancino was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and faces charges of grand theft from a person over 65 and fraudulent use of a credit card.
