PALM BEACH, Fla. -- 18 years and counting, Kevin Morine rides whatever it takes to patrol Palm Beach Island.
"I'm a big guy, so the cars are getting smaller and I'm not, so I like it better on the bike," said Morine.
But a year ago, Morine had to put his bike down, and jump in the ocean to save a woman who was attempting suicide.
"I saw the alcohol and the knives, so it was like she was going in there to do something," said Morine.
The woman refused to be saved, and swam farther out to sea.
Morine was stumped.
He noticed the St. Louis Cardinals jersey she was wearing.
It was a replica of Albert Pujols.
"I just tried to love on her as much as I could, and told her what would Albert do, what would Albert do in this situation," said Morine.
And it worked. The woman grabbed onto to Morine's body and swam into shore. Morine credits his training and his high school swim team experience, for his rescue.
"I felt like anyone could of done it, it just happened to be me, God picked me to be there at that time, and I'm thankful for it," said Morine.
