PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Border Patrol and Palm Beach town police were at the scene of a boat that washed ashore on Palm Beach early this morning.

Authorities said the boat washed ashore shortly after midnight along the beach near 1341 South Ocean Boulevard.

The U.S. Coast Guard put out an alert for a possible boater who may have gone overboard near that location.

According to Border Patrol, the boat has a Florida registration, but the incident remains "suspect."

There is no clear indication that the boat had migrants aboard and no one has been taken into custody, according to Border Patrol.
