PALM BEACH, Fla. - Palm Beach police have arrested a Palm Beach Gardens woman and charged her with the theft of a $40,000 bracelet from a Worth Avenue store last August.
Alain Sears, according to an arrest report, was in the store in the 150 block of Worth Avenue on August 20th.
According to police, Sears entered the store and asked an employee to view several piece of jewelry with any form of turquois.
The manager says that Sears appeared rushed and asked her to look up items in the store brochure or on her computer.
Store employees noticed that after Sears left a bracelet valued at $40,490 was missing.
Police say that surveillance video showed Sears removing multiple items from the display case and several jewelry storage drawers and placing the items into her purse.
The total loss from the store, according to police was more than $20,000 and less than $100,000.
Sears, who has been released from the Palm Beach County Jail, faces grand theft charges,
