WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Palm Beach County could be raising sales tax by a half percent, if voters approve today.

Commissioners will discuss the potential hike at this morning's meeting. They're deciding if they'll place the issue on November's ballot, for voters to make the final call.

County staff has proposed raising sales tax from 6 percent to 6.5 percent. That could generate up to $103 million over the course of a year for transportation costs.
