MANGONIA PARK, Fla. - Daniel Bembry drives his dune buggy everyday to McCray's II Backyard BBQ to cure his "barbecue fix".
"It's good. I come up here and grab me like two pounds, I'm good to go," said Bembry.
Nan Chevelon makes a "McCray's run" several times a month.
"It is wonderful. The barbecue, the ribs, the chicken, the whole thing. That's why we make an effort to stop by," said Chevelon.
Owner Derrick McCray says his family has been grilling in Palm Beach County for nearly 78 years.
In mid-January, McCray got a call from the NFL to cook for two private Super Bowl XLV events in Texas.
This marks the third time he has been invited to share his family's grilling skills and flavors for the big game.
"I was really happy about it because that really says a lot about us and how well the quality of our product...that they still remember that the taste from McCray's Backyard Barbecue ."
A minimum of 500 pounds of chicken and 1,000 pounds of ribs and will be prepped and cooked by McCray and his staff. "They wanted baby backs so what we're doing technically is cooking down right now so that we can chill blast these ribs and cool them off," said McCray.
The meat will then be packaged, frozen, placed on dry ice and shipped via UPS.
McCray will fly to Dallas Wednesday morning. He has cooked for several high-profile politicians including Vice President Joe Biden and former President Bill Clinton.
McCray says the secret to his success is simple. "I'm a spiritual guy and I have no fear in saying that my success comes from God and trying to do right by mankind."
After the Super Bowl, McCray says he will focus on building a restaurant. Currently, his business operates out of a small trailer in the town of Mangonia Park.
