PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Letter carriers across the country are stamping out hunger Saturday.
In addition to picking up mail, fighting off the occasional dog and delivering mail, letter carriers are picking up canned goods from people.
This is all part of National Stamp Out Hunger day, which is known as the largest single-day fundraiser in the country.
Letter carriers say they have to use their muscles a lot more Saturday, but it's nice to give back to those who need it.
Here locally, the Palm Beach County Food Bank is one of the recipients of the food that's donated by people in Palm Beach County.
Letter carriers pick up brown plastic bags with food and then bring the bags back to their respective offices for them to be picked up later.
Last year, Palm Beach County letter carriers gathered hundreds of thousands of pounds of food and they hope to do the same this year.
