According to Dr. Narendra Kini, the President and CEO of Miami Children's Hospital, a new partnership between the Children's Hospital at Palms West and his own facility, is a perfect fit for the children of South Florida.

"This means we bring the specialized capabilities of Miami Children's, trauma care, specialty care, and advanced support to the children of Palm Beach County," said Dr. Kini.

Beginning October first, four doctors from Miami will make their services available to children in the West Palm Beach area.

"Emergency physicians will actually take care of children at the Palms West Emergency Department," said Dr. Kini.

It's an added level of care that will open the doors of Palms West to more children from across the county.

"The hospital has been looking at how to expand its coverage of pediatric emergency services, and a partnership with one of the premier patient care leaders in the world will certainly allow us to accomplish that goal," said Bland Eng, the CEO of Palms West Hospital.

The agreement ensures that highly trained specialists will be available for any child in need of trauma care, operative care or post-op care.

"If a child happens to have an emergency condition, our goal is to have the most advanced care possible present in Palm Beach County," said Dr. Kini.

The contract will last for the next five years, and both hospitals hope the relationship will continue to develop, for the benefit of children in Palm Beach County.
