Man extricated from car which was upside down in Loxahatchee canal identified

The person was hospitalized in critical condition Saturday afternoon after being pulled from a vehicle, which was upside down in a canal in Loxahatchee has been identified as Jacinto Sanchez Ramos. Mr Ramos lives in West Palm Beach.

Rescue crews responded around 5:35 p.m. to a call of a car in a canal near the intersection of Folson Road and Okeechobee Boulevard, said Lee Forshner, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

He said the only occupant of the vehicle had to be extricated from the upside down car and taken to Palms West Hospital.

The accident is under investigation. Toxicology tests are pending.

There is no other information available at this time.
