A driver has been identified in connection with a deadly hit and run crash in Loxahatchee last week.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, 25-year old Megan Mathis of Loxahatchee was driving a blue 2004 Jeep Liberty the night it struck and killed Paula Vinsky.

Investigators said Vinsky was walking south in the southbound lane of Calamondin Bouldevard around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday when a vehicle hit her from the back.

PBSO said Vinsky was found in the grass and later died at the scene.

At the time authorities said it was possible that the driver who hit Vinsky did not realize it due to the dark conditions.

The sheriff's office said charges are pending.
