LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. - An arrest has been made in connection with a deadly hit and run crash in Loxahatchee back in February.
Megan Mathis, 25 of Loxahatchee was arrested on Friday and charged with leaving the scene of crash involving death.
Mathis was driving a blue 2004 Jeep Liberty the night it struck and killed 47-year-old special needs teacher Paula Vinsky, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Mathis was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
Investigators said Vinsky was walking south in the southbound lane of Calamondin Bouldevard when a vehicle hit her from the back.
PBSO said Vinsky was found in the grass and later died at the scene.
At the time authorities said it was possible that the driver who hit Vinsky did not realize it due to the dark conditions.
