LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. - A Loxahatchee man has been charged with 4 counts of animal cruelty for failing to feed and care for two puppies.
Jeremy Jones was confronted by Animal Care and Control officials after the two young pit bulls were spotted at his home in May, looking extremely thin and lethargic.
Jones surrendered the dogs, reportedly admitting he did not take them to the vet.
The puppies were examined and treated for fleas and parasites. One of the puppies was also treated for a mouth wound.
After a month of care, the puppies gained weight and were healthy enough to be adopted.
