LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. - Six adults have been displaced after lightning hit a home in Loxahatchee, said Captain Borroto, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
Callers stated they could see flames from the roof of the home. When crews arrived on the scene at 3:43 p.m., in the 18200 block of 40th Run North, they saw smoke and flames from the roof of the home, said Borroto.
Firefighters immediately began attacking the fire on the roof and searched the attic for any hidden fire. Crews located a small fire inside of the attic above the living room area; the fire was quickly extinguished, said Borroto.
Red Cross is assisting the adults with housing, Borroto said.
