LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. -- Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office are searching for the driver who hit and killed a female pedestrian on Wednesday night.
She has been identified as Paula Vinsky, an ESE Teacher at Crossroads Academy.
Investigators said Vinsky was walking south in the southbound lane of Calamondin Bouldevard around 9:00 p.m. when a vehicle hit the woman from the back.
PBSO said the woman was found in the grass and later died on scene.
Investigators believe the driver fled the scene and failed to render aid to the woman who died.
"Of course I have to think about all the families that live here. We're like one family, we're concerned about everybody," said Ukley Young, a nearby resident.
PBSO is looking for a blue SUV that has visible damage to the front of the vehicle. Authorities also said it is possible the driver hit the woman and did not realize it due to the dark conditions.
