THE ACREAGE, Fla. -- Three children were hospitalized this morning after a multi-vehicle crash in the Acreage.

Rescue crews were sent to the intersection of Citrus Grove Boulevard and Hall Boulevard after the crash around 7:35 a.m .

On arrival, crews found a mini van involved in the crash had children trapped inside, according to Palm Beach Fire Rescue spokesperson Albert Borroto. The children had to be cut out by rescue crews from the vehicle.

Two children were transported to St. Mary's Medical Center by ground rescue and the other was taken to St. Mary's by Trauma Hawk.

Investigators at the scene said it appears the woman driving the van may have ran a stop sign. Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the crash.
