LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. -- Authorities are searching for three suspects who attempted to steal an ATM at a Walgreens in Loxahatchee early this morning, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera.
Deputies arrived at the Walgreens at 15940 Orange Boulevard and Seminole Pratt Whitney Road where the break in occurred shortly after 4 a.m., according to Barbera.
The suspects smashed the window of the business and attempted to steal the ATM, but failed and fled in a stolen white Ford F-150, which deputies later recovered on G Road, Barbera said.
The suspects appeared to be wearing all black and their faces were concealed.
Barbera said deputies utilized the sheriff’s office helicopter and K-9 units, and set up a perimeter early this morning in their search.
The perimeter has since been shut down and this event will not affect area schools, Barbera said.
The store manager of the Walgreens said the store has re-opened.
Barbera said deputies will now review the store's security video.
This incident happened only a few miles away from the Royal Palm Beach Sunoco where an ATM was stolen two weeks ago.
The thieves that day had the same motive and description, Barbera said.
In early April, three thieves in a stolen pick up truck also pulled up to a Shell gas station on the 14000 block of Southern Boulevard, according to authorities.
Deputies say in that similar burglary a safe was taken.
