LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. - A woman was rescued following an alligator attack Saturday afternoon at Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife refuge.
According to Captain Albert Borroto, Public Information Officer for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, the woman was floating on an inflatable boat when the alligator attacked the raft, causing it to sink.
Due to remote location of the incident, firefighters had to use an airboat to launch a search and rescue for the victim, says Borroto.
The woman was found shaken but not injured.
She was transported back to safety and dry land.
