Acreage resident burned after working on car, airlifted to hospital

A resident from The Acreage was airlifted to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach this morning after suffering burns while working on his car, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue officials.

The man, who officials say is about 50 years old, was working on his car when a small fire started at about 10:20 a.m. at the 13800 block of 51st Place in The Acreage. Several fire rescue units, including Trauma Hawk, were called to the scene.

Information about the man’s condition was not immediately available.
