LAKE WORTH, Fla. - A man was arrested on Thursday in connection with a February 4 crash that killed a 19-year-old Lake Worth woman, according to Teri Barbera, spokeswoman for Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Christopher L. Moffit, 19, of Lake Worth, was arrested on one count each of DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and DUI causing serious bodily injury, Barbera said.
Authorities say Moffit was driving a 2005 Cadillac CTS northbound on Broadway Street, approaching the intersection of Hypoluxo Road when he drifted off the shoulder and crashed into a tree. During the crash some of the passengers were ejected and one of them, Jamie Allen, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other passengers, 18-year-old Lyndsey Rice of Lake Worth and 19-year-old Robert Stoddard of Lantana suffered serious injuries. Moffit sustained minor injuries.
Moffit was booked in the Palm Beach County Jail.
