At least five injured when car, Palm Tran bus crash west of Lantana

LANTANA, Fla. - At least five people were injured Friday evening in a crash involving a Palm Tran bus west of Lantana, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.

The patients were taken to JFK Medical Center in Atlantis with minor injuries, said Capt. Don DeLucia, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

The crash happened at about 6:30 p.m. near South Congress Avenue and Lake Cascade Boulevard, about one half-mile south of Lantana Road.

Indications are that the bus was rear-rear ended and that the injured parties were traveling on the bus.

It was unclear whether anyone in the other vehicle was injured.
