2-year-old boy drowns after falling into Intracoastal Waterway

LANTANA, Fla. - A 2-year-old boy drowned Thursday afternoon after falling into the Intracoastal Waterway near South Lake Drive in Lantana, said Chief Sean Scheller, spokesman for Lantana Police Department.

Scheller said police responded to a call of a possible child drowning around 5:30 p.m.

Detectives are  interviewing the family to determine how the tragic accident happened, police say.

Police did not release the child's name.
