Residents displaced after early morning Lake Worth apartment fire

LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- Residents in two Lake Worth apartments were displaced this morning after a fire broke out.

Crews found smoke and flames bursting from windows of a four-room complex at 3171 Mcsherry Drive when they responded at 4:15 a.m.

Residents said they heard a loud pop before their smoke alarms went off. All six residents of the complex were out of the building when Palm Beach County Fire Rescue units arrived.

Residents in two apartments were displaced. Those living in two other apartments were able to return home.

There were no injuries. The cause of fire is under investigation.
