A three-year-old boy named Nathan is back with his family Tuesday afternoon after he was found wandering the streets in Lake Worth early this morning.
He slipped away from his grandfather's house in the middle of the night.
The Department of Children and Families said the child is with his mother, safe and sound. It doesn't plan on sheltering Nathan at this point.
Two woman rushed to put two children in the back seat of a car when a reporter showed up in the 700 block of South A Street, hoping to speak with the child's grandfather.
One lady begin to cover the child's face as she was asked questions.
Deputies say Nathan wandered four blocks from South A Street around 1:30 Tuesday morning, even crossing a street with a traffic light before he was found.
When the grandfather saw his grandson's picture on the news this morning, he contacted authorities.
Nathan was reunited with his grandfather several hours later.
DCF says it is still investigating, and has not said if any charges are forthcoming.
