LAKE WORTH, Fla. - The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says around noon on Sunday, the owner of a Hummer had left the keys in the vehicle in front of his home while switching out vehicles. The owner says the suspect jumped into his vehicle and drove off.

A neighbor says the suspect almost ran him over during the getaway. That neighbor followed the suspect. The suspect then abandoned the Hummer about two blocks away and fled on foot.

PBSO deputies, aviation units and K-9 searched the area for the suspect. After a nearly two hour search, K-9 units located and arrested the suspect hiding underneath wooden fence planks in the rear of 218 North Palmway.

The vehicle was not damaged.
