Local high school student diagnosed with tuberculosis

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla - The Palm Beach County Health Department is investigating a tuberculosis case at Lake Worth High School.

Health Department spokesman Tim O'Connor says a student has been diagnosed with TB and is being treated.

O'Connor says the Health Department was notified this week and has been investigating and identifying teachers and students that have had contact with the student and possibly exposed.

Members of the Health Department met with Lake Worth High School staff members Thursday to notify them, O'Connor said.

Only those that shared the same class schedule over a period of time will need to be tested, said O'Connor.
