Lake Worth woman dies in car crash late Saturday evening

LAKE WORTH, Fla. - A female driver died in a single-vehicle crash late Saturday night in the 2400 block of 6th Avenue South in Lake Worth, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Lauren Garcia, 19, of 6122 Wauconda Way, E. Lake Worth, was driving a 2001 Honda Prelude and had just crossed the Lake Osborne bridge when she lost control of her vehicle, went into a “clockwise side slip” and off the north side of the roadway. Her car struck a fence bordering John Prince Park and went down a slight embankment before overturning, the sheriff’s report stated.

As the Honda overturned, it struck two trees and came to rest on its roof.

Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene. Next-of-kin has been notified.
