LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Lake Worth residents will have to find a new place to take a dip and cool off this summer. The city pool will not open as expected.
Originally, the city had plans to open the pool on Memorial Day and keep it open until construction began on the casino and common areas at Lake Worth Beach.
Officials indicated to the Palm Beach Post that opening the pool for two weeks simply didn't make sense.
The pool will now remain closed until construction is completed next summer. It's part of the historic casino building that is scheduled to undergo a $6 million dollar renovation beginning in June.
