LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Sheriff's deputies arrested a Lake Worth man on Sunday, accusing the man of trying to run over his girlfriend of two years with his car.

Freddy T. Julias, 31, is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $5,000. He is facing charges for aggravated assault and battery.

Julias was taken into custody some time after 7 p.m. Sunday after a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy saw him trying to run over his girlfriend, whose name and age are withheld in the report.

Once in custody, the girlfriend told deputies that she and Julias had spent most of the day arguing, and that it worsened when they both began drinking. She said that around 7 p.m., he began to beat her "violently" throughout her body, according to the probable cause affidavit.

She said that when she tried to escape, Julias hopped into his car and chased her down Wingfield Street. She added that he tried running her over "approximately three or four times" but that each time she'd jump over the median to avoid being hit, the affidavit stated.

One of the deputies who was dispatched to the couple's home saw Julias' last attempt at trying to run over his girlfriend. He was pulled over and placed into custody, according to the affidavit.
