Twenty people are without a home this morning after a fire breaks out at a Lake Worth hotel early Sunday morning.
The fire happened at the Economy Inn on the corner of 11th Avenue South and South Dixie Highway in Lake Worth.
It happened around 2:30 Sunday morning when the blaze started and spread through the entire second floor of the hotel.
Many of the displaced people, who the owner says live at the hotel a week at a time, are bundled up, standing on the sidewalk trying to stay warm.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said the entire hotel is damaged and uninhabitable.
There is severe fire damage to the second floor and the first floor is suffering from water damage.
They haven't yet figured out what caused the fire.
PBCFR did say that nobody is injured who lived inside of the building.
A firefighter suffered a dislocated shoulder while fighting the fire and was taken to the hospital.
There are 15 rooms inside of the hotel the owner said.
The Red Cross has come to help the people who are displaced and give them shelter until Wednesday at the least.
