Florida State Senator Audrey Gibson's gun bill, SB 1678, would require anger management for ammo

LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- - There is outrage among Florida gun owners surrounding a new bill that would not only require a three day wait period to buy a firearm, but if they want to buy bullets they have get their head checked.

If Senate Bill 1678 passes, anyone who wants to come into a gun shop would have to take two hours of anger management to obtain a box of bullets.

"I feel like I have the right to shoot 1,000 rounds. If I want to shoot 100, I feel I have the right to shoot 100," said Jerry Price, a West Palm Beach gun owner.

Price said he does not think the bill has a chance and is a waste of time.

"They're accusing any and all gun owners of having some kind of anger problem. You must have a problem because you got a gun," said Price.
 
The state Senator sponsoring the bill, Audrey Gibsonm, D-Jacksonville, said the intent is to make communities safer.
 
"Guns don't kill people, people kill people? Well guns and people, kill people and I realize that not everybody is a killer," said Gibson.

Gibson said everyone should know what pushes their buttons. She also feels the intent of the bill could be applied when it comes to people obtaining driver's licenses.

"I think it's an excellent idea and maybe I'll file that bill next," said Gibson.

If the bill passes, gun owners would have to take an anger management course every 10 years.
