LAKE WORTH, Fla. - A man whom Palm Beach County deputies say was threatening to commit suicide, held two women hostage using a speargun.
Deputies say two women who were at Errol Smyth's Lake Worth home called 911 to say that Smyth had threatened to kill himself and was threatening to shoot them with the speargun.
The women told investigators that Smyth smashed one of their cell phones and took the battery out of another.
Smyth, according to PBSO, surrendered to deputies when they arrived at his home.
Deputies say that Smyth was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment.
Smyth was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on Tuesday.
