A man from Hialeah, Fla., was killed in an early Thursday morning wreck on the Florida Turnpike in Palm Beach County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Anwar Gonzalez, 53, was riding his motorcycle at 2:50 a.m. and entered the Turnpike southbound from the Lake Worth Service Plaza.
Peter Gerhardt, 64, of Ormond Beach, Fla., was driving a tractor-trailer southbound in the right lane when Gonzalez's motorcycle drifted to the right into the occupied lane of the semi, said FHP.
The front of semi collided with the right side of motorcycle.
FHP said Gonzalez, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from his motorcycle onto the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
Gerhardt and a passenger in his semi suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
