LAKE WORTH, Fla. - A Boynton Beach Boy Scout gathered more than three thousand American Flags and honored them with a proper disposal.
At John Prince Park in Lake Worth Scout leaders and Boynton Beach police helped 14-year-old Brian Blickle build a campfire.
They disposed of the flags properly by burning them and not throwing them away.
"People in the Army are fighting for us, and we should repay them with the symbol that they have, for freedom for us, and we should respect that," Blickle said.
Dozens of people took part in the ceremony.
Blickle undertook the project to earn his Eagle Scout ranking.
