EARLIER STORY:

LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- A woman in the early stages of dementia walked away from her suburban Lake Worth home at 7:30a.m. today and hasn’t been seen since. Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies are asking the public for help finding her.

Sylvia Shafran, 81, is 5’1” and 170 lbs. When she left her home in the 300 block of Bennington Lane she was wearing a blue, green and white striped shirt and dark brown capri pants and was carrying a red umbrella.

The sheriff’s office considers Shafran to be a missing/endangered adult. If anyone comes into contact with her they are asked to contact sheriff’s dispatchers at 561-688-3400 or the nearest law enforcement agency.
