PALM SPRINGS, Fla. - A bank robbery in Palm Springs near Forest Hill Blvd. and Kirk Rd. put Palm Springs Middle School on lockdown this afternoon.
School board officials say the lockdown was ordered as a precaution.
Palm Springs Police along with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office were investigating the robbery at the PNC Bank at 3080 Forest Hill Blvd. where police say a man passed a note to the teller and then fled on foot with an unknown amount of money. A perimeter was established and PBSO K-9 assisted in the search. At approximately 1:10 p.m. the search for was called-off.
No weapon was seen. The suspect is a white male, approximately 6-feet tall, wearing a NAVY baseball cap, blue jeans and a light colored shirt. The subject also has facial hair and a tattoo on his right forearm.
