WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Prosecutors have asked for extra time to respond to attorneys for John Goodman, who is appealing his DUI manslaughter conviction.

Attorneys representing the state of Florida have asked for an extra 60 days to answer the brief filed on behalf of Goodman, who remains on house arrest on a $7 million appellate bond.

Goodman was sentenced in May, following his conviction in the February 2010 traffic death of Scott Wilson, whose parents won millions of dollars from Goodman in a wrongful death suit settlement.

Prosecutors now have until December 10 to respond to the appeal brief filed by Goodman's attorneys.
