BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- A teacher at Odyssey Middle School in Boynton Beach could be suspended for three days after being suspected of bringing alcohol to school.
The Palm Beach County School Board at its Wednesday April 3rd special meeting will consider taking disciplinary action against teacher Jeffrey Burg.
A report issued by Palm Beach County school investigators states that a male student was found in possession of an alcoholic beverage on the Odyssey Middle School campus last January.
The student, according to the report, told administrators that he got he got the beverage from a female student who found it in a cooler in a storage closet in Burg's classroom.
Investigators say that the school principal and assistant principal found the cooler with an alcoholic beverage in it in Burg's classroom. The teacher told administrators that he brought the cooler in to replenish the water supply in the refrigerator and when he saw the alcohol he planned to bring it home.
Burg will be suspended without pay for three days if the Palm Beach County School Board approves the recommendation from investigators.
