Governor Rick Scott said "we got drenched" after flying over the flooded areas in Palm Beach County Wednesday morning.

The governor toured the area with local Emergency Management and FEMA officials.

Residents won’t know for at least another week whether they're eligible for federal assistance. Officials are still doing their assessment locally and across the state.

In order for local homeowners to be eligible for federal assistance, there would have to be more than four million dollars in damage to uninsured property in Palm Beach County. However, there would have to be another 20 million in damages  across the state.  So depending on the damage in other Florida counties, local families might not get assistance.

The governor is headed to the Keys today and the Florida Panhandle Thursday to check out the damage.
