WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - UPDATE: As of 9 a.m. on Sunday power had been restored in Lakewood and surrounding communities.

More than 1,200 people are without power this morning due to high winds in Palm Beach County.

A power pole on Webster Avenue near East Lakewood Road caught fire around 4 a.m. Sunday morning.

Florida Power & Light and West Palm Beach Fire Rescue responded to the sparking and have put out the flames.

FPL workers are now working to restore power in the neighborhood near Phipps Park near South Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach.

Crews say the strong winds knocked off the top of the power pole and have caused numerous outages throughout Palm Beach County this morning.
