GREENACRES, Fla. - Greenacres shooting may be drug-related
Police are investigating an early morning shooting in Greenacres that sent a 31-year-old man to the hospital, according to Greenacres Public Information Officer Captain Gina Abbananto.
Abbananto said a 31-year-old white male was in the passenger side of a black Maxima, facing in the wrong direction in a McDonald's drive-in lane with a gunshot wound to his shoulder when police were called to the scene.
Police believe he was shot in the 5700 block of Biscayne Drive in Greenacres shortly after 4:42 a.m. However, the victim may have been driven to the McDonald's restaurant at Lake Worth Road and Sherwood Forest for help. Police were called by an employee of the McDonald's and a crime scene was established, according to Abbananto.
The victim was transported via Trauma Hawk to the Delray Medical Center where he is in stable condition.
The 21-year-old driver was interviewed as a witness. Abbananto said police believe the shooting may be drug-related.
There are no known suspects at this time.
