A date has now been set to dedicate a new K-9 memorial in memory of the Florida Highway Patrol's k-9, "Drake".
Drake was badly injured while protecting the home of Trooper Bobby Bootie; the armed suspects shot the dog after entering Bootie's home. Despite every effort to save him, Drake died.
Now-- a community-wide effort to create a K-9 memorial is about to become a reality. Work is well underway on the project. On June 23rd, at 7:00 P.M., the memorial will be dedicated on the ground of Simmons Veterinary Hospital in Greenacres.
