WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Gas prices are creeping up to the $4.00 mark in South Florida.

Friday morning, the average price for a gallon of gas in Palm Beach County was at $3.80. The state's average was at $3.70 and the nationwide average sat at $3.61.

Drivers near Community Drive and Military Trail said the prices are "ridiculous" and if they get any higher, they'll consider a smaller vehicle.

Experts predict by Memorial Day, prices will be well over $4.00 a gallon.
